Our Mission...

Windy Hill Farm is devoted to selling quality horses to those that appreciate the value of a good horse. It is not our practice to simply "Buy and Sell' horses, we instead prefer to buy quality individuals and develop them into superior individuals with depth and integrity. Nothing pleases us more than to find a good horse a good home...that's our job.

Ted and Kathy DeHass, Owners, have been married since 1982 and have owned farms in both Ohio and Virginia. They have been involved in the horse business for over 25 years. Ted loves to help his children learn and grow in business. He has made it his goal to see that his children be successful and well respected business people. Kathy, a passionate equestrian, she has a select group of horses that she works with and is involved in all aspects of farm operation.

Jordan, Tiffany and Lane Shaffer

Have been married since 2003 and live in the farmhouse on the farm. Both Tiffany and Jordan play a big role in the operation of Windy Hill Farm. Tiffany is the head trainer and oversees all operations involving training and herd health and supervises the staff on the farm. Along with riding and training, Jordan is responsible for customer relations,sales, trading of horses, and internet commerce, as well as training. Lane is the lastest addition to our family. He was born in February 2009, Lanes role at the farm is to keep everyone on their toes and to bring a smile to everyone face. He loves to ride the horses, play with the dogs, ride the tractor, help drive the golfcart, and ride in the trucks. He really like the dump truck and loves to blow the air horn.

Stacey DeHass, a recent graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Stacey is a certified Chef. She is in the finishing stages of finishing her first cookbook. A "how to" for the starter kitchen. She also has a May wedding planned to Aaron Ramseyer, a cheese maker! Couldn't be a better match.

Brodie DeHass Has graduated from Stark State University with a degree in Auto Technology. An A.S.E. certified auto technician. He owns his own used car dealership, and repair shop. He is in charge of all maintenance of property and equipment on the farm. Brodie is also an Eagle Scout and is a Scout Leader for his local Boy Scout troop.

Clarence Schlabach grew up on the farm that adjoins Windy Hill Farm and has worked for us since he was 13 years old. He has done everything from cleaning stalls to riding horses. Presently, he is in charge of the majority of our hoof care and training green horses. He is a great team member.

Willis Schlabach- Not Pictured- Willis started working for us as a farm hand at 14, but his love for horses lead him to riding for us. He is very soft handed and can get a great results out of a horse. We are glad to have Willis on our team.

Andrew Schlabach- Not Pictured-Lives on a Amish Farm next door. He is in charge of barn clean-up, stalls, feeding, ect. He does a really nice job.

Eric Shaver DVM , Amity Wise DVM and Aaron Wise DVM are graduates of Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Eric, Amity and Aaron are highly experienced in Equine Medicine. Between the three of them, they offer a wide scope of expertise and provide all of the vet services for the farm.
